Directing
Directing video content allows me to take my lighting and set design skills and add in a whole other area of interest in how products, props, and the camera moves to make the final product that much more dynamic. Being able to shoot both stills and motion gives my clients a final campaign that looks very cohesive while granting significant cost savings by having both shoots going on at the same time.
I work very closely with my DP and post production teams. We diagram lighting and camera angles for shots, discuss camera and model movement, accommodate multiple crops for web usage, and make sure we know everything the VFX team will need to built the most polished videos. From complicated slow motion water splashes with the RED or Phantom cameras, to quirky stop motion gifs, I make sure we've planned every step days before anyone is on set.
